Hey there! I'm Lisa Custis, wife, mom of three, Co-founder of Purposeful Promise, and author of the Yes To You guided journal, which helps individuals build their wellness toolbox. I am also a wellness and mental health advocate. My journey into this world started back in undergraduate school, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Growing up in the vibrant and diverse communities of Queens, NY, I was fortunate to learn the positive impact of having a strong sense of community and how much it helps to navigate life's highs and lows. As I approached the completion of my graduate studies, still deeply immersed in the "human and people business," I began my own mental health and wellness practices.
It was during this time that I truly grasped the profound importance of self-love, self-care, and self-trust. My experiences with professional counseling, coupled with the internal work I undertook outside the therapy room, taught me to develop a resilient wellness toolbox. This toolbox has been my guiding light, helping me navigate life’s curveballs and pivot towards brighter, more fulfilling paths.
